Her orange peels sway from the kitchen ceiling. Her blankets, stitches dropped, cover the couch. &nbsp;Torre is Tower. The strike of fate, inevitable change. The messy process of coming closer to yourself in free fall with the foundation rising up, to begin again. My process is one of trying. Since then, I have taken classes and held residencies at the Hawaii Potter’s Guild, Glendale Community College, and Cobb Mountain of Art and Ecology. My pieces are co-created with the natural world. I am inspired by the shapes of nature - the bend of the oak tree, the whisper of the eucalyptus leaves, the fizzures of the sea.&nbsp;A majority of my work is wood-fired, where the glaze is made from the burning and melting ash; a consistent stoking of the fire vitrifying the ware. Other pieces, are finished with a wild clay that I have dug from around my home in Southern California.&nbsp; &nbsp; I am also inspired by the ritual and ancestral ceramic practices, especially those of Catholic and ancient Sicilian rites.
